GitHub launched a technical preview of the GitHub Copilot app, a new desktop experience for agent-driven development that integrates the full development lifecycle from issue to merge. The app allows users to run multiple parallel agent sessions across repositories, automate workflows, and extend capabilities with MCP servers and custom skills. Existing Copilot Pro, Pro+, Max, Business, and Enterprise customers can install the app immediately, with broader access for Copilot Free and new customers coming soon.
