Gemini strikes deal with Apex to expand prediction markets access

Gemini has partnered with Apex Fintech Solutions to distribute its CFTC-regulated prediction markets through Apex's infrastructure, allowing brokerages to offer Gemini Titan event contracts without building their own futures commission merchant capabilities. Gemini reported a 93% quarter-over-quarter increase in prediction-market volume in Q2 2026, and the partnership follows Apex's August 13, 2026 integration with Kalshi, making Gemini the second prediction market operator on Apex's network.

The partnership lets brokerages offer Gemini's CFTC-regulated event contracts through Apex's existing infrastructure, removing a major barrier to entry.

Gemini just found itself a distribution shortcut. The Winklevoss-led exchange has partnered with Apex Fintech Solutions to pipe its regulated prediction markets into brokerages across the country, leveraging the same infrastructure Apex already provides for Gemini’s US equities trading.

The arrangement means brokerages plugged into Apex’s platform can offer Gemini Titan’s event contracts, covering politics, sports, and economics, through a single connection. No need to build out their own futures commission merchant capabilities.

Why this matters for prediction markets #

Gemini’s own numbers tell the story: Q2 2026 saw a 93% quarter-over-quarter increase in prediction-market volume on its platform.

Gemini Titan secured its CFTC Designated Contract Market license back in December 2025, and the company launched Gemini Predictions nationwide on December 15 of that year. The binary event contracts, which are cash-settled, let users take positions on outcomes ranging from election results to economic indicators.

Then in August 2026, Gemini rolled out Gemini Olympus, its in-house derivatives clearing organization. The prediction market sector as a whole saw multi-billion dollar volumes in 2025.

Apex’s expanding role as prediction market plumbing #

On August 13, 2026, Apex opened its platform to Kalshi event contracts, marking its entry into event-contract distribution. Its first major live integration came through the brokerage tastytrade, which began offering Kalshi’s products through Apex’s rails.

Now Gemini becomes the second prediction market operator to tap into Apex’s network. For brokerages, the value proposition is straightforward: instead of building bespoke integrations with each prediction market exchange, potentially requiring new regulatory registrations and technical buildouts, they connect once to Apex and gain access to multiple event contract providers.

During recent earnings discussions, Gemini executives hinted at upcoming partners that could drive additional volume to the DCM by riding Apex’s technology.

The competitive landscape is heating up #

Kalshi, which has been operating as a CFTC-regulated exchange since 2021, got to Apex first. The two platforms are now effectively competing for brokerage shelf space on the same infrastructure provider.

Gemini has said it’s focused on expanding liquidity incentives alongside external distribution.

Neither Gemini nor Apex has disclosed specific launch dates or financial terms for the arrangement. That leaves open questions about revenue-sharing models, exclusivity provisions, and which brokerages will be first to offer Gemini’s event contracts through the new pipeline.

Gemini is building a full-stack prediction markets business: its own DCM license for the exchange layer, Gemini Olympus for clearing, and now Apex for distribution.
