Gemini Spark gets Workspace upgrades as Google teases AI Pro access soon

Google is rolling out new features for Gemini Spark, including expanded Workspace integration and faster performance, while teasing upcoming AI Pro access. The personal agent can now edit shared documents, spreadsheets, and presentations, and is rolling out to AI Ultra subscribers except in certain regions.

Google is expanding what the personal agent can do in Google Workspace apps, such as opening and editing Google Docs. Additionally, Spark can now: - Edit private spreadsheets and presentations. - Read comments on spreadsheets and presentations. - Edit shared documents, spreadsheets, and presentations. - Add images to documents and presentations. - Edit and refine documents, including shared ones, using the Canvas panel. Spark is now over 50% faster, with Google emphasizing how “long-running tasks won’t take as long.” Similarly, smarter sourcing allows Spark to retrieve and review sources in parallel for faster processing when dealing with complex tasks.
