Google Home today is rolling out the latest updates to Gemini for Home and the mobile app (July 23, 2026), while there’s also new Nest Cam firmware.
On the voice assistant front, Google has expanded the conversational memory that allows you to ask a follow-up without repeating the original command or context. The window “across the entire Gemini for Home experience is now 15 minutes.” This lets you say:
”Hey Google, turn on the kitchen lights.” … then a few minutes later say, “Hey Google, dim it to 50%.”
The other update brings Gemini Live to the first-generation Google Home Mini and Nest Hub. Say “Hey Google, let’s chat” to start the back-and-forth conversational experience. It’s already available for the Nest Mini, Nest Audio, Nest Hub, Nest Hub Max, and Google Home Speaker.
Meanwhile, Google Home 4.22 for Android and iOS brings automation and smart lock updates:
Automation
