Gemini app gets 3.7 Flash & setting to turn off corner media watermarks

Google's Gemini app has replaced 3.6 Flash with 3.7 Flash in the model picker across Android, iOS, web, and macOS, following the model's launch on August 13, 2026. The update brings improved reasoning and accuracy for fields like finance, law, and biosciences, as well as enhancements in coding and web development. Additionally, the app now allows users to disable visible corner watermarks on generated media, except in countries where law requires them, while invisible SynthID watermarks and C2PA metadata remain.

When Gemini 3.7 Flash launched yesterday morning, Google said it was just powering the Spark agent in the Gemini app. The updated model is now available for chats.

Late on Thursday, 3.7 Flash replaced 3.6 Flash in the model picker across Android, iOS, web, and macOS. It joins 3.5 Flash-Lite and 3.1 Pro, with 3.5 Pro not getting an availability update yesterday.

Google touted improved reasoning and accuracy for “knowledge-dense fields like finance, law, and biosciences.” There are also improvements across coding, web development, and UI generation.

In Gemini Spark, 3.7 Flash makes the personal agent more efficient with “improved tool use for Google Workspace apps.”

Meanwhile, as previewed in July, the Gemini app now lets you disable visible watermarks in generated media. Specifically, this applies to the corner spark icon that appears in images (Nano Banana) and videos (Omni), as well as songs (Lyria).

This feature is not available in “countries where it’s required by law to keep them.” The invisible SynthID watermarks and C2PA metadata remain embedded.

Google also brought this feature to Flow, and Search is slated to receive it next.

On the web, tap the settings gear icon in the bottom-left corner for a new “Media watermark” section with simple “On” and “Off” options. The former remains the default behavior. This is rolling out to all platforms over the coming days.
