**What happened: **GE Vernova ([GEV](https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/GEV/)) stock fell by roughly 5% in premarket trading on Wednesday.

**Why the stock is moving: **The gas turbine maker's quarterly results failed to impress investors, despite a revenue beat and a jump in orders for power and electrification equipment.

"With a backlog of $176 billion, continued revenue growth and margin expansion, and significant free cash flow generation, GE Vernova's momentum is building, and we are raising our 2026 financial guidance," [CEO Scott Strazik said.](https://www.gevernova.com/sites/default/files/gev_webcast_pressrelease_07222026.pdf)

The company now sees revenue of $45.5 billion to $46.5 billion for the year, up from a previous forecast of $44.5 billion to $45.5 billion.

GE Vernova's total company orders surged 88% to $24.2 billion, driven by massive demand in its Power and Electrification segment.

The company's wind unit, however, dragged on earnings, with a 40% drop in new orders and higher offshore project costs.

**What else you should know: **Gas turbines have emerged as one of the hottest segments in the industrial market, powering the booming artificial intelligence infrastructure build-out and the onshoring of manufacturing.

The company has been [dubbed the "supermarket"](https://finance.yahoo.com/news/a-ge-spinoffs-stock-is-surging-as-it-positions-itself-as-the-supermarket-for-ai-energy-demand-140019819.html) for the electric power industry, offering everything from natural gas turbines for generating electricity to power plant and grid modernization services.

Since the beginning of 2026, the stock has rallied more than 65%, hitting an all-time high [in April.](https://finance.yahoo.com/markets/stocks/article/ge-vernova-hits-record-high-on-strong-quarter-guidance-raise-132104841.html)
