While human invigilators remain essential, they cannot observe every action taking place on every contestant’s screen.\nLateranAI addresses this challenge by recording competition sessions and analysing screen activity and input events. Rather than replacing human reviewers, the system highlights moments that deserve attention, leaving every final decision to competition officials. Each flagged event can be reviewed together with the supporting evidence and replayed afterwards if necessary.\nTested in real competitions\nAccording to the Board, the platform has already been deployed across more than 2,000 students in ten competition rounds.\nThe endorsement describes its use during the USA–North America AI Olympiad and the USA Cybersecurity Olympiad, where the system detected several forms of misconduct that had not been noticed during in-person invigilation, including the use of AI assistants embedded in permitted websites, automated scripts calling external AI services, remote keyboard control, and prohibited coding assistants.\nThe Board also highlights that the platform allows organizers to determine which types of data are collected, supports hosting data within national or regional jurisdictions, and follows the principles of GDPR and Singapore’s PDPA.\nAn endorsement from the IOAI Board\nFollowing its review, the International Board recommends that national delegations and future host committees evaluate LateranAI for use in their own competitions and selection rounds.\nThe letter also notes that the USA–North America AI Olympiad and the USA Cybersecurity Olympiad will continue using the platform in 2027. In addition, IOAI will introduce the team to the organisers of IOAI 2027 in Singapore, while the Asian-Pacific Olympiad in AI is already discussing future cooperation with LateranAI.\nFor the IOAI community, however, the endorsement is about more than a piece of software.\nIt is also a story about one of its own alumni—someone who moved from competing at the Olympiad to building technology that may help future competitions become even fairer. As the Board concludes in its letter, this is exactly the kind of impact it hopes IOAI participants will have long after the medals are awarded.\n \n\nRelated Articles\n \n\n \n\n  IOAI \n \n\n \n\nOpening a Call for Nominations for the IOAI International Board (2026) \n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t12/06/2026\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\n  IOAI \n  IOAI 2026 \n \n\n \n\nSave the Date: IOAI Community Meeting – April 21st! \n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t08/04/2026\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\n  Events \n  IOAI \n \n\n \n\nThe 3rd IOAI China AI Education Symposium was Successfully Held in Beijing \n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t10/12/2025\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\n  IOAI \n \n\n \n\nThe new African OAI Board and Scientific Committee members have been elected \n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t08/10/2025\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\n  IOAI \n \n\n \n\nSave the Date: The first Pan African OAI meeting – October 3rd! \n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t01/10/2025\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\n  IOAI \n \n\n \n\nSave the Date: IOAI Community Meeting – September 15th! \n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t04/09/2025\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\n  IOAI \n \n\n \n\nHighlights from the First Malaysian AI Olympiad (MAIO 2025) \n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t07/07/2025\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\n  IOAI \n \n\n \n\nOpening a call for nominations for the IOAI International Board \n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t03/07/2025\n```\n\nGo to Top\nAbout\nAccreditation\nCountries & territories\nInternational Board\nInternational Scientific Committee\nRegulations\nBecome an IOAI Host\nRegional Olympiads in AI\nEducation Hub\n2026 Kazakhstan\nSchedule\nInternational Jury and HSC\nSyllabus\nContest Rules\nRegistration\nFinancial Aid 2026\nCall for tasks\nAI Model Track\nRules & Format\nFAQ\nIOAI GAITE\nGAITE Registration\nSponsors\nEditions\n2024 Bulgaria\n2024 Participating teams\n2024 Organizers\n2024 Speakers\n2024 Results & awards\n2024 Tasks\nIOAI 2024 Photos and Videos\n2025 China\nAbout Beijing\nSchedule\nContest Rules\nTeam Challenge\n2025 Participating teams\n2025 Participants\n2025 Results\nIOAI 2025 Photos and Videos\nIOAI 2025 Mascot\n2026 Kazakhstan\n2027 Singapore\nThe Bulgarian Award\nNews\nMedia kit\n2025 Press release #1\n2025 Press release #2\n2025 Press release #3", "url": "https://wpnews.pro/news/from-ioai-competitor-to-ai-entrepreneur-ioai-board-endorses-lateranai", "canonical_source": "https://ioai-official.org/from-ioai-competitor-to-ai-entrepreneur-ioai-board-endorses-lateranai/", "published_at": "2026-07-10 14:34:24+00:00", "updated_at": "2026-07-26 15:53:47.593025+00:00", "lang": "en", "topics": ["ai-tools", "ai-policy", "ai-ethics"], "entities": ["International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence", "LateranAI", "Wang Zerui", "USA–North America AI Olympiad", "USA Cybersecurity Olympiad", "Asian-Pacific Olympiad in AI"], "alternates": {"html": "https://wpnews.pro/news/from-ioai-competitor-to-ai-entrepreneur-ioai-board-endorses-lateranai", "markdown": "https://wpnews.pro/news/from-ioai-competitor-to-ai-entrepreneur-ioai-board-endorses-lateranai.md", "text": "https://wpnews.pro/news/from-ioai-competitor-to-ai-entrepreneur-ioai-board-endorses-lateranai.txt", "jsonld": "https://wpnews.pro/news/from-ioai-competitor-to-ai-entrepreneur-ioai-board-endorses-lateranai.jsonld"}}
