In Episode 253 of *The Robot Report* Podcast, Deise Yumi Asami shares how her AI-enabled robotics startup, Maximo, is making solar panel installation faster, safer, and more efficient. She talks about how robotics, AI vision, and smart field deployment are helping reshape the future of renewable energy infrastructure.

Yumi Asami also shares her experiences with starting a [new company](https://maxrobotics.ai/) from the ground up while being incubated within parent company The AES Corp. Learn how a large organization can encourage and celebrate innovation and how [AES](https://www.aes.com/) organized its innovation group.

[Deise Yumi Asami](https://www.linkedin.com/in/deiseasami/) is the founder of Maximo at AES. Drawing on her engineering background, she led the development and incubation of Maximo, an AI-enabled robotic platform transforming utility-scale [solar](https://www.therobotreport.com/category/markets-industries/energy-solar-renewables/) construction by automating the installation of solar modules using [AI](https://www.therobotreport.com/category/design-development/ai-cognition/)-based [vision](https://www.therobotreport.com/category/technologies/cameras-imaging-vision/).

Yumi Asami has more than 15 years of experience developing and scaling innovative technologies in the energy industry.

Since joining AES Brazil in 2016, she has led the development of pioneering energy solutions, including microgrid software and pilot projects, and the implementation of Brazil’s first utility-scale lithium-ion battery energy storage system.

Deise holds a B.S. in electrical engineering and a Lean Design Master Certification.

Every growing Postgres database eventually hits a wall. Queries slow down, dashboards lag, and teams consider adding a second database.

Tiger Data, creators of TimescaleDB, extend Postgres with time-series primitives, columnar storage, and automatic partitioning so your queries stay fast on live data. No pipelines, no migration, no second system. Just Postgres, built for the workload you actually have.
