Silver 1 Edward Snowden’s security app, Haven, developed by the Guardian Project, has been archived and is no longer under active development. As a result, it doesn’t work reliably on many newer Android devices.
However, I found what appears to be a fork of the Haven app that has been actively under development. After trying it, it seems to work without any obvious issues. However, the developer is trying to publish the app and is asking coders to leave confirmation comments for the maintainers on the F-Droid merge request on this reddit post:
Does anyone know whether this code is considered safe enough to use? Should I be using it in an sandbox environment for testing apps since its still in beta? There is no ads and my firewall showed it didn’t have trackers like most other apps. What else can I look for?
You could use an LLM to audit it for you and then if it’s clean have the LLM compile it for your based on the code or use Android studio.
