To make it easier for teams to move from planning to action, we’re introducing meeting recaps in Google Chat. Meeting recaps provide a convenient summary directly in Google Chat, including:

- **Meeting summary:** A high-level overview highlighting key discussion topics and takeaways.
- **Direct artifact links:** One-click access to the full Gemini meeting notes document, the meeting recording, and the transcript.
- **Key decisions:** Core conclusions and agreements reached during the call.
- **Action items:** Assigned next steps with designated owners so team members can immediately take action.

| *Automatically review key decisions, action items, and artifact links directly in Google Chat after your meeting ends.* |

Meeting recaps will appear automatically for any conversation with ‘Take notes for me’ enabled in Google  Meet, in the [Chat space associated with that meeting](https://support.google.com/meet/answer/9308979?visit_id=639268868051661865-4166634316&p=chat_in_meet&rd=1), bringing essential post-call takeaways directly into the flow of your team's ongoing conversations. Participants can review agreed-upon next steps, and colleagues who missed the meeting or joined late can catch up on what happened without reading lengthy transcripts or hunting for files.

**Additional details**

- **Requirements:** Meeting recaps are generated when “Take notes for me” is active during a Google Meet call and an associated meeting chat conversation exists.
- **Notes sharing settings:** If the meeting host sets “Send notes to” in Google Meet to “Hosts and co-hosts only,” a recap card will not be posted to the group chat.
- **Silent notifications:** To reduce distraction, recap cards are delivered silently, without bolding the conversation or adding an ‘unread’ badge in the conversation roster.
- **Recap card management:** Any participant in the meeting conversation can delete the recap card by clicking More options (three dots) > Delete. Deleting the recap card removes the summary from the chat thread, but the original notes document remains safely stored in Google Drive.
