SAIC Volkswagen, a joint venture between SAIC and Volkswagen in China, has filed with China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology for its first fully electric ID. ERA vehicle, the ID. ERA 5X SUV, which features a 155 kW peak power output, dimensions of 4,560 mm length, 1,896 mm width, 1,630 mm height, and a 2,815 mm wheelbase, and uses LFP batteries from CATL. The ID. ERA 5X is the first model globally built on the CEA (China Electronic Architecture) and CMP (China Main Platform), developed by Volkswagen and XPENG, and SAIC Volkswagen announced another ID. ERA model with pre-sales beginning August 11 and launch in the third quarter.

Earlier today, China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology MIIT released a long, two-page list of new models permitted for sale in the country. The ID. ERA 5X was one of those models. These filings help us to learn about coming models well before they come to market. Of course, one key thing they don’t tell us is how much the vehicles will cost, but they tell us a lot of other information. The ID. ERA 5X comes with a 155 kW peak power output and the following dimensions: - 4,560 mm — length - 1,896 mm — wide - 1,630 mm — high - 2,815 mm — wheelbase The car will use LFP batteries from CATL. SAIC Volkswagen also announced today that another ID. ERA model is coming soon. Pre-sales begin on August 11, and the sedan will launch in the third quarter. There is one ID.
