# Field notes — week of September 28, 2026

What changed in AI-support and AI-localization tooling this week. Every item was checked against its source before it entered this list.

- **Anthropic** -[committed $100 million to launch Claude Frontier Academy](https://www.anthropic.com/news/claude-frontier-academy) (Oct 2), a program to train 10,000 "Frontier Deployed Engineers" by the end of 2027 through a two-phase residency, with initial cohorts from Accenture, Bain, Capgemini, Deloitte, McKinsey and Morgan Stanley.

- **OpenAI** -[added computer use to the Agents API](https://developers.openai.com/api/docs/changelog) (Sept 29), letting agents complete tasks in an OpenAI-hosted browser, and released GPT-6.1 Sol for coding and professional work at $2 per million input tokens, plus an "ultrafast" service tier for GPT-6 Astra.

- **Intercom** -[added merging for duplicate user profiles](https://www.intercom.com/changes/en/158536-merge-duplicate-users-into-one-profile) (Sept 28), letting teams combine two profiles from the conversation sidebar with a preview before confirming, plus an API version still in preview; a separate change added three tooltip sizes meeting WCAG 2.2 target-size guidance.

- **Sierra** -[became a launch partner in OpenAI's new B2B marketplace](https://sierra.ai/blog/sierra-joins-the-openai-marketplace) (Sept 29), letting eligible customers put existing OpenAI spending commitments toward building agents with Sierra.

- **Decagon** -[joined the same OpenAI marketplace as a launch partner](https://decagon.ai/blog/decagon-and-open-ai) (Oct 2), framing it as an extension of its status as an OpenAI enterprise-ecosystem partner since earlier this year.

- **Lokalise** -[published an overview of its enterprise integrations](https://lokalise.com/blog/enterprise-localization-integrations/) (Sept 30), covering Salesforce, Contentful, Figma and CI/CD connections; it cites a case study in which Navan cut translation turnaround time by up to 93%.

- **Crowdin** -[rounded up its September 2026 updates](https://crowdin.com/blog/whats-new-at-crowdin-september-2026) (Oct 1), including a Copilot "Ultracode mode" that splits large tasks across parallel agents and an AI pipeline that can route only ambiguous strings to human reviewers.
