The site, which recently saw a new wing open, is now the company’s second-largest R&D organization worldwide.\n\nExpansions since then to Pune and Hyderabad have helped efforts developing process technologies, high-speed analog IP, and subsystem designs, with the India offices playing a “leading role” in using AI tools to boost engineering efforts.\n\nMarvell said its efforts in India have seen it give back, having launched a scholarship for technical and engineering merit (MSTEM). Launched earlier this year, it provides students pursuing degrees in electronics, electrical engineering, and computer science with financial support and industry experience, and has already attracted more than 7,000 applicants.\n\n“We are grateful to our customers, partners, government collaborators, academic institutions and especially our exceptional team, whose innovation, expertise and dedication have been instrumental to the growth and success of Marvell in India,” Bishnoi added.\n\nThe company’s India expansion comes as it ramps up development efforts. Nvidia’s CEO praise was the icing on the cake for a company on the up. Marvell was recently [crowned by Gartner](https://www.sdxcentral.com/news/nvidia-crowned-ai-networkings-top-dog-but-its-throne-isnt-quite-safe/) as the company to beat for AI data center optical connectivity, with its efforts bolstered further following acquisitions of silicon photonics startups [Polariton Technologies](https://www.sdxcentral.com/news/marvell-acquires-silicon-photonics-device-startup-polariton-technologies-to-advance-optical-scaling/) and [Celestial AI](https://www.sdxcentral.com/news/marvell-completes-325b-acquisition-of-photonic-startup-celestial-ai/), the latter of which it paid $3.25 billion for.\n\nIt also recently [poached Jay Kirkland](https://www.sdxcentral.com/news/marvell-boosts-custom-silicon-push-with-amd-engineering-lead-hire/), AMD’s EPYC and Instinct platform engineering lead, as Marvell pushes further into custom specialized processing units (XPUs) to complement its optical interconnect offerings.", "url": "https://wpnews.pro/news/fabless-optics-giant-marvell-to-boost-india-efforts-with-250m-investment", "canonical_source": "https://www.sdxcentral.com/news/fabless-optics-giant-marvell-to-boost-india-efforts-with-250m-investment/", "published_at": "2026-07-30 10:12:27+00:00", "updated_at": "2026-07-30 10:29:23.197764+00:00", "lang": "en", "topics": ["artificial-intelligence", "ai-infrastructure", "ai-chips", "ai-startups"], "entities": ["Marvell Technology", "Navin Bishnoi", "Bangalore", "Hyderabad", "Nvidia", "Jensen Huang", "AMD", "Jay Kirkland"], "alternates": {"html": "https://wpnews.pro/news/fabless-optics-giant-marvell-to-boost-india-efforts-with-250m-investment", "markdown": "https://wpnews.pro/news/fabless-optics-giant-marvell-to-boost-india-efforts-with-250m-investment.md", "text": "https://wpnews.pro/news/fabless-optics-giant-marvell-to-boost-india-efforts-with-250m-investment.txt", "jsonld": "https://wpnews.pro/news/fabless-optics-giant-marvell-to-boost-india-efforts-with-250m-investment.jsonld"}}
