Export your organization's data

Anthropic now lets Primary Owners of Claude Team and Enterprise plans export organization-wide data, including conversation and user data, from Organization settings > Data and privacy on the web app or Claude Desktop. Owners and Primary Owners can also enable a "Allow members to export their own data" setting so individual users export their own chats from Settings > Privacy, though exports are unavailable in Claude for iOS and Android and each user export excludes uploaded file contents. Export download links are emailed to the account address, require sign-in, and expire 24 hours after delivery; messages, files, and projects deleted manually or via enterprise retention settings are excluded from later exports.

Export your organization's data

Organization data exports are only available to Team and Enterprise plan Primary Owners. Data exports include conversation data and the user data for your organization. Primary Owners and Owners can also let users export their own data. Learn more in the Let users export their own data section below.

If you're an individual Claude user on a Free, Pro, or Max plan looking to export your data, see Export your Claude data. Primary Owners of Team and Enterprise plans can export organization data from Organization settings > Data and privacy on the web app or Claude Desktop.

Follow these steps to export your organization's data:

  1. Click on your initials in the lower left corner of your account.
  2. Select "Organization settings" from the menu.
  3. Click "Data and privacy" to open that section.
  4. Click on the "Export Data" button.

Once the export has been processed, you will receive a download link via email.

Important: Messages, files, and projects deleted from your account, either manually by individual users or via enterprise retention settings, will not be included in data exports initiated after the deletion.

Please note:

  • There may be a small delay while the export is generated.
  • The email will be sent to the address associated with your account.
  • You must be signed in to your account to download your data using this link.
  • The download link will expire 24 hours after delivery.
  • If your link expires, you can always request a new one by repeating the export process.

If you're an Enterprise Primary Owner looking to export audit logs, see How to access audit logs.

Let users export their own data #

Owners and Primary Owners can let users in your organization export their own chats without exporting the whole organization.

To turn this on:

  1. Navigate to Organization settings > Data and privacy .
  2. In the “Data management” section, turn on “Allow members to export their own data."

Once the setting is on, users export their data from Settings > Privacy in Claude on the web or Claude Desktop. Exports aren’t available in Claude for iOS or Claude for Android. Each export covers the user’s own chats and doesn’t include the contents of uploaded files. Learn more about exporting your Claude data.

Note: Primary Owners don’t see the personal "Export data" button, even when this setting is on. These roles export the whole organization’s data using the steps above.
