Everpure extends data and control planes for agentic AI Everpure has extended its data and control planes for agentic AI, enabling universal data intelligence across enterprise estates. The company acquired 1touch in February to classify and contextualize data, creating a semantic knowledge graph for AI models and agents. CEO Charles Giancarlo says the shift from app-centric to data-centric IT requires self-describing metadata to unify siloed data sets. Everpure extends data and control planes for agentic AI Everpure has significantly extended its ability to classify data, not just its own, for AI and make it available to models, agents, and apps across its fleet of systems, with AI being used to better manage, monitor and secure the fleet and the data it holds. It says the IT world has reversed its focus from the traditional app-centric view to a data-centric position. Each application tended to have its own data stack but AI models and agents need a cross-app silo picture, universal data intelligence as it were. Universal Data Intelligence CEO Charles Giancarlo says that, for 50 years: “Data existed to serve the application design, and indeed, the computer operating system. Over the last 30 years, applications have been the center of gravity. App sprawl and AI are reversing this hierarchy.” A data primacy message is emerging. He says: “The typical enterprise today has dozens, hundreds, or even thousands of applications each with its own data set, and generally many copies thereof. Most common company activities, such as creating a quote for a customer, require accessing multiple applications and data sets that often do not share consistent information. … "customer" in a CRM means something different than "customer" in a billing system; "asset" in an ERP is not the same object as "asset" in a supply chain platform. ” Correcting this requires data context, its semantic meaning, that was previously hidden inside an individual app or app suite’s silo, to be surfaced and made visible. A semantic knowledge graph or graph database https://www.blocksandfiles.com/storage-management/2022/08/18/graph-database/1595670? gl=1 18twds7 ga MzkxNDQyMTIwLjE3NzcwMzc0NTc. ga NSDTXHMMN0 czE3ODE2ODQ5NTYkbzEyNiRnMSR0MTc4MTY4NDk3OSRqNjAkbDAkaDA. is needed for this. Giancarlo says: “Data, or specific data sets, must serve as systems of record that multiple applications can use for company workflows. … Data must be self-describing, and the relationships between different systems of record must be recorded in self-describing metadata.” In essence: “context is created, stored, and maintained alongside the data itself , as metadata. … The locus of value is data that is governed, managed, and understood by the enterprise, ready to be utilized for multiple purposes by multiple applications and agents.” It is a Universal Data Intelligence layer, and this capability is based on Everpure’s acquisition of contextual data intelligence startup 1touch https://www.blocksandfiles.com/data-management/2026/02/23/pure-storage-becomes-everpure-snaps-up-1touch-in-data-management-shift/4091751 in February. It gives Everpure “the ability to discover, classify, and contextualize data across the entire enterprise estate - on-premises, cloud, SaaS, and legacy environments - and to build a catalog and semantic knowledge graph around these data sets of information.” This data intelligence layer provides: Universal Discovery: Offers visibility into structured and unstructured data regardless of storage format, including major databases like SQL Server and Oracle, showing exactly where critical application data resides Automated Governance: Automatically scans the entire system to identify sensitive info like PII and PHI and track lineage, providing a complete map of the data landscape to ensure secure compliance. AI-Ready Context: Maps raw data directly to its real-world business definition, creating a semantics knowledge graph. This enables modern AI agents to instantly understand, query, and safely act on information across the entire enterprise. Prakash Darji, GM of Everpure's Digital Experience BU, provided a usage example: “Take a major sports medicine network, for example. A data leak here doesn't just trigger a compliance fine. It directly impacts athlete trade values and fuels insider bidding. We use Everpure Data Intelligence to automatically isolate and protect this exact type of high stakes information. Scanning across disparate sources, Everpure Data Intelligence immediately flags 42 separate files containing highly sensitive athlete data that had slipped through traditional controls. From there, it builds your true data blueprint, helping your teams understand exactly where that information lives, how it's being used, and how it moves across your organisation.” Unified Data Plane The company put forward its Unified Data Plane and Intelligent Control Plane concepts, under an Enterprise Data Cloud EDC banner, at its Accelerate 2025 https://www.blocksandfiles.com/ai-ml/2025/09/26/pure-pushes-performance-and-density-with-new-flasharray-systems/1603311 event, and is now burnishing them with additional components. Everpure says its Unified Data Plane updates deliver a shared foundation across the entire enterprise that eliminates performance silos, maximizes resource efficiency, and brings cloud-like scaling directly into physical data architecture. There is a PurityTurbo-enhanced FlashArray//XL 190 system, Everpure Data Stream, Cloud Azure Native Virtual Machines and Evergreen//One Overdrive. The FlashArray//XL 190 is Everpure’s flagship ”big iron” array with DRAM-class latency of under 100 microseconds and a claimed 930 percent increase in IOPS per rack unit compared to traditional systems - which are not identified. It was first revealed in - September https://www.blocksandfiles.com/ai-ml/2025/09/26/pure-pushes-performance-and-density-with-new-flasharray-systems/1603311 last year, when Everpure said it had 25 percent more capacity, 50 percent decreased latency and a 100 percent performance increase over the existing //XL170. It has exclusive use of the Turbo variant of the Purity operating system. Normally Purity has both controllers in Everpure’s dual-controller arrays accept IO requests from hosts but only one writes and reads to the system’s SSD storage. Purity Turbo changes this to a partial active-active enhancement over the base design so that the second controller can read from the SSDs, actively serve read I/O. Purity Turbo also expands the cache footprint across both controllers. Although a flagship system, the XL190 is not the highest-performing FlashArray, that being the ST, as an Everpure positioning diagram shows; The Everpure Data Stream optimizes prepares data for AI. It will “Vectiorize the data into a pipeline such that your data is organized in the ways that AI agents/apps will want to access it.” It makes data AI-ready through automated pipelines “in days instead of weeks.” Evergreen//One Overdrive provides a temporary, cloud-like performance boost for on-premises storage to seamlessly absorb traffic spikes up to 25% above baseline without requiring permanent subscription upgrades. Darji said: “With Evergreen One Overdrive, we historically have supported capacity on demand for all of our service tiers. You had a 2 percent headroom, and with overdrive, you now have performance on demand so you don't have to overprovision and you can get better return on asset efficiency.” Everpure Cloud Azure Native Virtual Machines run in the Azure public cloud and decouple storage from compute to reduce costs on storage-heavy workloads. Customers can lift-and-shift code into Azure without refactoring, and manage the VMs natively in the Azure portal like a first-party service. Intelligent Control Plane This embeds AI directly into daily operations, turning manual, reactive storage administration into a self-optimizing, secure environment. It features natural language orchestration and predictive behavioral analysis to deliver: Workload Rebalance & Mobility: Automatically moves active workloads across the fleet without causing downtime, optimizing capacity distribution and guaranteeing steady application performance. Copilot Workflow Execution: Allows storage administrators to use natural language to plan, validate, and trigger secure, end-to-end operations across the entire global infrastructure estate. Enhanced Cyber Anomaly Detection: Monitors telemetry across the entire environment to spot coordinated, suspicious login patterns or behavioral drifts that individual storage arrays might miss in isolation. Fusion Compliance & Agentic Triage: Automatically detects hardware or software configuration Drift to enforce global corporate governance while leveraging agentic AI to suggest root causes for immediate technical remediation. Darji commented on these updates: “Our platform's open and operable, so we had monitoring capability and we added open telemetry and the ability for people to take action with a Fusion MCP server, a Fusion topology and providing enhanced intelligence with our Pure1 MCP server. From an intelligence and compliance standpoint, last year we introduced fleets, presets workflows and workflow orchestration and now it gets even better with tier one application intelligence intelligence to actually crack open LUNs and understand what's inside the data, cyber anomaly detection that's now behavioural, and compliance monitoring and remediation to see if there's configuration drift.” Specifically about the agentic aspects, he said: “Customers have been using automation in four ways. The first is automating workflows to, let's say I have a critical vulnerability. Here's the Copilot to look up a solution before I create a ticket. Another approach is like, "Hey, show me which volumes don't have safe mode snapshots on.” Instead of asking the question every day, just schedule it. “And now customers can schedule it versus resubmitting questions on a daily basis. For customers that are using OpenClaw or their own automation, they can get intelligence from the Pure fleet estate via Pure1 MCP and automate actions via the Fusion MCP server. So this allows you to build this into your existing automation workflows. And finally, agentic collaboration, where humans and agents can collaborate to solve problems. Everpure is providing a performance triage workflow, Darji said: " that we're delivering as part of the platform. So if we go into our workflows directly within Pure1, we can find our intelligent automation workflow and this workflow is looking across all of the arrays, whether it's tens or hundreds, for any high latency scenarios. It's consistently monitoring latency and it's going to go ahead and resolve that in a safe and governed way." "What will the triage agent do? Pretty much what humans do, but just in a faster and smarter way. So in this case, it's going to go ahead and look for the issue. It's going to triage the issue. When it finds it, it's got to validate the issue actually happened externally and propose a root cause, and then hand it off to either a human or another agent to remediate the problem." If a person gets the hand off and it's a backup processing issue, then, "in Slack the human could just say, "Hey, I want to apply QOS or rebalance the workload." If you choose to rebalance, it'll rebalance the workload for you. It'll assign a monitoring agent for the next two, three times the backup job runs and make sure the issue doesn't come back and close the case. So you have a safe and governed way for agentic automation for any latency problems you have on your fleet, simplifying workload management for customers." Enterprise Data Cloud Blueprints Everpure is also introducing a step-by-step EDC Success Blueprint for building and scaling an enterprise data cloud. It begins with a practical readiness assessment to identify immediate infrastructure and security risks, then maps out a path across 10 operational pillars to transition environments from manual management to a highly automated, efficient architecture. Customers get access to EDC Success Blueprint Guides and a workshop designed to put a customized plan into action. With this, Everpure says, “the EDC delivers a unified, secure data fabric that shows exactly where data lives, how it connects, and what it means. … governance policies protect data based on its inherent meaning rather than its application silo, AI workflows optimize around shared enterprise context, and infrastructure automatically adapts to real-world usage behavior.” Availability FlashArray//XL190 is available now.
