The Washington Post just confirmed what anybody who's used ChatGPT already knew: AI chatbots lean left, and the algorithm is the new gatekeeper deciding what counts as acceptable opinion.
The Post tested six leading AI models using political questions designed by researchers at Dartmouth College and Stanford University, and the results were damning. OpenAI's ChatGPT gave exclusively left-leaning answers 80% of the time, with just 3% right-leaning and 17% presenting both sides. That's not a chatbot. The bias wasn't limited to one platform. DeepSeek, the Chinese AI model, produced left-leaning responses 70% of the time.
