*"Patent workflows often require enterprise contracts, long onboarding or disconnected tools."*

That is how C R Jacob, CEO and Co-founder of Esgenix, describes the problem behind the company's latest launch. On October 2, 2026, Esgenix, an agentic AI patent workflow platform, announced Self-Serve, which gives users direct, pay-as-you-go access to its patent drafting and analysis platform.

Small and mid-sized IP firms, startups, solo practitioners and independent inventors can now create an account, choose the workflow they need, pay online and start immediately. In Jacob's words, Self-Serve lets practitioners and startups start with one invention, use what they need and stay in control.

## Patent work is more than claim drafting

A strong patent application involves more than writing claims. It can require invention analysis, claim strategy, prior-art research, specification drafting, patent figures, review and repeated refinement. Esgenix brings these activities together in one connected AI workflow.

The company describes three kinds of user. A solo practitioner can treat the platform as an AI-powered extension of their practice. A startup can explore an invention, assess its IP landscape and prepare for discussions with patent counsel. An independent inventor can start with a single patent project and add services as needed. For anyone in that last group, an [AI patent drafting tool](https://app.esgenix.com/auth/register) that no longer demands an enterprise contract is the practical change.

## AI agents, with the user in charge

Esgenix uses decision-gated agentic workflows. AI agents research, draft, analyse, review and iterate, while the user keeps control of claim strategy, key decisions and the final work product. The company says structured checks run across the workflow to flag unsupported or inconsistent AI-generated content.

## Semantic search and multiple jurisdictions

Prior-art research can eat a lot of a patent professional's time, from building and refining search strategies to reviewing results across several rounds. Esgenix uses AI-powered semantic search to find technically relevant patent documents based on the substance and context of an invention, rather than relying only on keyword-based Boolean searching. The platform searches more than 220 million patent documents covering 108 jurisdictions.

Because patentability and claim strategy can depend on the legal framework of the jurisdiction in question, Esgenix workflows can also analyse claims and specifications from several perspectives. These include frameworks associated with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, the European Patent Office and the Indian Patent Office, among other patent offices. The stated aim is to help users spot potential issues from different legal angles while keeping control of the final claims and application.

Beyond drafting, users can access other professional workflows, including Freedom-to-Operate analysis, patent landscapes and whitespace analysis, depending on the services available to them. The idea is to begin with one workflow and add others as requirements change.

## Starting small, with a managed option alongside

Self-Serve registration is open through the company's site, esgenix.com. For a limited launch period, new users receive credits to try patent drafting without making any payment.

Alongside Self-Serve, Esgenix is expanding its AI-Led Managed Patent Services for companies, law firms, R&D organisations and innovation teams that prefer experienced professionals working alongside the AI platform. Rather than only providing software access, Esgenix professionals can run searches, analyse results, review patent drafts and provide structured IP intelligence.

Esgenix describes itself as a decision-gated agentic AI platform built for patent workflows, bringing invention understanding, claims, drafting, figures, prior-art search, patent review, FTO and patent analytics into one platform. With Self-Serve, that platform is now open to people who previously had to work around enterprise-sized buying processes.
