At AMD, we believe access to technology can unlock opportunity. That belief is reflected in the scale of our investments and the impact they create in communities around the world.
From 2020 through 2025, AMD made technology donations to more than 800 universities, research institutions and nonprofit organizations, benefiting an estimated 104.8 million people through support for education, scientific research and workforce development. In 2025, AMD further strengthened this commitment by pledging $150 million to expand AI education across the United States. AMD Learning Labs bring this commitment to life by giving students the opportunity to explore and build skills that can shape their futures. Students write code, design animations, produce digital media, build PCs and bring ideas to life through technologies like 3D printing.
Creating those opportunities has never been more important as artificial intelligence transforms how we learn, work and create. As part of the broader AMD commitment to preparing students for an AI-driven future, including our support of the White House AI Education Pledge, Learning Labs help students develop foundational capabilities such as critical thinking, computational literacy, creativity and adaptability.
While AMD Learning Labs can be found in communities around the world, their impact is best understood through the students who use them every day. Long-standing partnerships in San Jose, California, and Austin, Texas, demonstrate how sustained access to technology can open doors and inspire the next generation of innovators.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Silicon Valley – Alviso Clubhouse #
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Silicon Valley, Alviso Clubhouse is a nonprofit dedicated to helping young people realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring adults.
AMD equipped the club with AMD technology-powered desktops and laptops enabling it to expand STEM programming to include coding, digital literacy and digital arts. For many of the students, the Learning Lab is where they design their first digital project, write their first computer program or watch a concept they imagined become a physical creation through a 3D printer.
Most importantly, it provides a place where students can discover new interests, build valuable skills and begin to see themselves as creators.
Ann Richards School for Young Women Leaders #
In Austin, Texas, the Ann Richards School for Young Women Leaders is an all-girls public school focused on leadership and college readiness. Through AMD support, students have access to upgraded technology powered by AMD and hands-on learning experiences, including PC-building workshops. The Learning Lab supports both early computer science education and the school’s Media Technology Pathway, where students explore coding, digital storytelling, animation and production, including designing and producing their annual yearbook.
As one student shared after a coding class, “This was probably the most fun I’ve had at school.” Behind that excitement is something even more powerful: growing confidence and a sense of belonging in the field of technology.
