E-bike rider dies after collision with car in Fremont

A cyclist riding an e-bike died after colliding with a car Saturday afternoon in Fremont, marking the city's sixth fatal traffic collision of 2026. The crash occurred at 4:34 p.m. near Grimmer Boulevard on Auto Mall Parkway when the vehicle turned right onto the northbound I-880 ramp and struck the cyclist traveling east in the westbound bicycle lane. The cyclist suffered head injuries and died at a hospital; the driver was not injured.
