They claim to be E2EE + give 25GB free forever. Very generous free plan.

Only some of their crypto library appears to be open source at the moment. Nothing else.

The ML-KEM part of which is a re-implementation of a Typescript library, which is a re-implementation of a JavaScript library, which is a re-implementation of a Go library, which is a re-implementation of a C library.

Maybe one for the watchlist. But I wouldn’t even consider using it at the moment.

I can stack on that, here is what the website claims:

Actual reality is one lone repository:

There is also a even more contradictory claim about self-hosting on the business slug URL:

Their other various claims on their business FAQ fail to hold up to much scrutiny either:

Compliant and designed for compliance are two completely different claims, one means it was audited with evidence to show for it, the other means prepared for an audit, but has not undergone it, that is a sleight of hand technique.

I must admit, I have ‘trialled’ this due to the generous ‘free’ account and 25GB storage. However, I haven’t uploaded and personal items for the reasons already specified.

Although Dragbin works on mobile (I am looking at iOS), it’s clearly geared towards desktop. It certainly isn’t a repository for images in the same way as Ente is.

I’ve ’bookmarked’ them for now, but I wouldn’t trust them just yet based on a number of factors already outlined and the glaringly obvious one.
