Apple writes online that iOS 26.5.2 brings over two dozen security fixes to your device, including one found with the help of AI.\n\nYou can download iOS 26.5.2 now by going to **Settings** and tapping **General**. Next, select **Software Update**, tap **Update Now** and follow the prompts on your screen.\n\nApple writes in the update's release notes that this update offers security fixes, many of which are related to malicious web content vulnerabilities.\n\nA closer look at the update's common vulnerabilities and exposures report shows that many of the patches address issues in WebKit, the engine that powers Safari and other third-party browsers on iOS. Anthropics' AI model [Claude](/tech/services-and-software/anthropics-claude-what-you-need-to-know-about-this-ai-tool/) is credited for assisting in the discovery of one particular issue, which was related to a potential memory corruption exploit.\n\nThat discovery is the latest development in a busy few months for Anthropic's AI models. In April, the company [delayed the release of its Claude Mythos model](/tech/services-and-software/anthropic-project-glasswing-claude-mythos-preview/) to the public because its ability to find vulnerabilities represented a significant cybersecurity threat. It then [released Fable 5 and Mythos 5 in June](/tech/services-and-software/claude-fable-5-first-mythos-ai-model-anthropic-safety-news/), before [taking them down about a week later](/tech/services-and-software/anthropic-claude-fable-mythos-us-export-controls/) in the wake of government restrictions. Mythos 5 was then [cleared for use on Friday, June 26](https://www.cnbc.com/2026/06/26/us-government-anthropic-claude-mythos5-ai.html), though only for a group of select companies and agencies.\n\nAs a result of that developing technology, we could start seeing Claude's name appear more often on these CVE reports in the future.\n\nFor more on iOS, here's what to know about the upcoming [iOS 27](/tech/services-and-software/apple-wwdc-ios-27-announcement/) and your cheat sheet for [iOS 26](/tech/services-and-software/before-apple-releases-ios-27-this-fall-heres-your-ios-26-cheat-sheet/).\n\n**Watch this:** Prepare to Live With Two Siris (Unless You Pay Up)", "url": "https://wpnews.pro/news/download-ios-26-5-2-now-for-a-smorgasbord-of-security-fixes", "canonical_source": "https://www.cnet.com/tech/services-and-software/download-ios-26-5-2-now-for-a-smorgasbord-of-security-fixes/", "published_at": "2026-06-30 18:06:14+00:00", "updated_at": "2026-06-30 19:33:09.545583+00:00", "lang": "en", "topics": ["artificial-intelligence", "ai-safety", "ai-products"], "entities": ["Apple", "iOS 26.5.2", "iPhone 17", "iPhone Air", "WebKit", "Anthropic", "Claude"], "alternates": {"html": "https://wpnews.pro/news/download-ios-26-5-2-now-for-a-smorgasbord-of-security-fixes", "markdown": "https://wpnews.pro/news/download-ios-26-5-2-now-for-a-smorgasbord-of-security-fixes.md", "text": "https://wpnews.pro/news/download-ios-26-5-2-now-for-a-smorgasbord-of-security-fixes.txt", "jsonld": "https://wpnews.pro/news/download-ios-26-5-2-now-for-a-smorgasbord-of-security-fixes.jsonld"}}
