# Donate tokens to the open-source projects you use.

Set a monthly limit on your own AI provider account. Maintainers of the projects you choose use it for reviews, tests and fixes.

- **0** requests today
- **1** devices online now
- **1** donors
- **2** projects

## Moochy in 3 minutes

From your API key to a maintainer's terminal, and the button on their README.

## How it works

1.
### Choose a project and a monthly limitFor example $20 a month for a library you depend on. Pause or stop whenever you want.
2.
### Run the Moochy app on your machineIt keeps your provider key and answers the project's requests with it. Every limit is checked on your machine.
3.
### See every requestEach request ends with a receipt signed by your device: the project, the model, the cost and the day.

## Your API keys stay on your machine

- **In your machine's keychain.** You add a key once with`moochy keys add` , on your machine. It is stored there and nowhere else.
- **Used only by the Moochy app on that machine.** The open-source app calls your AI provider with the key, after checking your limits.
- **Requests are encrypted end to end.** Moochy's servers pass encrypted bytes along. They see neither your keys nor the prompts.

## Works with your provider and your tools

Donations run on your own key from any of these providers.

- Anthropic
- OpenAI
- OpenRouter
- DeepSeek
- xAI (Grok)

Maintainers use donated tokens from every coding agent with MCP or an OpenAI- or Anthropic-compatible API:

## Questions

## Does Moochy cost anything?

No. Moochy is free: no fees, no commission, no paid plan. You pay your AI provider directly, only for the requests your donation serves, and never more than your monthly limit.

## What stops a project from spending too much?

Your limits: a monthly limit, optional weekly and daily limits, and a limit per request ($5 unless you change it). Moochy's servers keep them, and the app on your machine checks them again before every request. Your machine's own monthly limit holds whatever the servers ask for. The app also runs safety checks and refuses requests with risky settings.

## What do I see about how my tokens are used?

For each request: the project, the model, the cost and the day, in a receipt signed by your device. You never see the project's code or prompts, and the project never sees your key.

## Is Moochy open source?

The Moochy app, the part that holds your key and does the encryption, is open source under Apache-2.0. Moochy's servers and this website are not, which is why the app never needs to trust them. [How that works](https://moochy.dev/open)

## Your tokens can ship someone's next release.

Pick a project you use every day and give it a monthly limit. It takes two minutes.
