[Andy Burnham](/news/andy-burnham/index.html) is set to be prime minister within three weeks - but has still found the time to use [TikTok](/news/tiktok/index.html) to assess mock-ups of his promised 'No10 North'.

In a video shared on the site, the former Greater Manchester mayor gave ratings to AI-generated illustrations of his proposals.

If - as is almost certain - he replaces [Keir Starmer](/news/keir-starmer/index.html) as PM, Mr Burnham has pledged to create a new [Downing Street](/news/downing-street/index.html) team based in Manchester.

In a speech this week, he outlined how 'No10 North' would act as 'the nerve centre of a rewired Britain', charged with making power flow to all the UK's nations and regions.

Mr Burnham said it would be 'given a mission to strive for equivalent living conditions in all parts of Britain' as he bids to push his 'Manchesterism' agenda across the UK.

The department would also have three 'clear tasks' of increasing public ownership of utilities such as water, energy and housing; reindustrialisation; and regeneration.

In his TikTok video, Mr Burnham assessed various mock-ups of 'No10 North' that featured a number of Northern landmarks.

'Love the interest No10 North is generating,' he said, before choosing a 'brilliant' design - featuring a 'Don't Look Back to Westminster' slogan - as his top choice.

But some of Mr Burnham's fellow TikTok users branded the designs 'AI slop'

Mr Burnham said: 'I think we have a winner, look at this - absolutely brilliant! Manchester vibes in the area.

'Don't look back - not in anger - don't look back to Westminster. I'm loving this.'

However, some fellow TikTok users branded the designs 'AI slop', while one warned the Labour politician: 'Stay away from AI, babes.

'Nothing says 'we're out of touch' like using AI-generated content to speak to people worried AI is replacing their jobs.'

Mr Burnham is set to succeed Sir Keir in Downing Street as soon as 20 July in the absence of any other Labour leadership contenders.

On Monday, in his first major speech since Sir Keir Starmer announced he will step down, Mr Burnham pledged to pull people together in the 'broadest possible coalition' to revive hope across the country.

The Makerfield MP gave up being mayor of Greater Manchester to return to Parliament in a by-election earlier this month in order to challenge Sir Keir.

He said: 'Westminster has not been working for people and it has not been working for a very long time. In fact, it is broken.

'And as a result, the country isn't where it should be. It is stuck in a rut, and clearly we can't go on like this.'

But some Labour MPs are said to be worried that Mr Burnham's 'Manchesterism' agenda could end up alienating voters in the party's rural seats.

A new YouGov poll found that just 23 per cent of Britons expect Mr Burnham to govern in the interests of the whole country, while 27 per cent believe he'd be governing mainly in the interests of the North.

A further 15 per cent believe he'd be governing in the interests of somewhere else, while 35 per cent are unsure how Mr Burnham would govern the country.
