DLSS 5 Manager adds support for RDNA 4 graphics cards with new ‘AMD mode’ in latest update

DLSS 5 Manager, an open-source tool by developer Nodix-Tech, added support for AMD RDNA 4 graphics cards in version 1.1.7, introducing an 'AMD mode' that lets users test Nvidia's DLSS 5 neural rendering on AMD's RX 9000 series GPUs, though the developer warns it will not work on every title. Version 1.1.8, released the following day, brought interface, translation, and performance improvements, including reduced GPU usage.

DLSS 5 Manager is a new open-source tool designed as a “one-click mod installer” for Nvidia’s latest version of DLSS, as well as ReShade and Streamline. It’s described on its GitHub page as “The first DLSS 5 Manager” and has seen a bunch of updates since its first public beta last week. In version 1.1.7, released yesterday, creator Nodix-Tech has added support for AMD GPUs.

Nvidia officially released DLSS 5 last week with support for NBA 2K27. However, files leaked ahead of release already put DLSS 5 support in the hands of modders, allowing its new neural rendering feature to be applied to any game you like (results may vary) on a wide variety of GPUs. Nvidia currently supports RTX 50 series cards, but promises RTX 40 support at a later date.

AMD mode now available in DLSS 5 Manager #

With the introduction of ‘AMD mode’ to DLSS 5 Manager, users can now test the new neural rendering feature for RDNA 4 graphics cards. These are AMD’s latest RX 9000 series GPUs, headed by the flagship RX 9070 XT. According to the developer, “It will not work on every title,” though the same can be said for forcing DLSS 5 support on Nvidia GPUs, even RTX 50 Series cards.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen DLSS 5 support come to AMD graphics cards. At the end of last week, a modder by the name of danielblnc managed to get DLSS 5 running on the RX 9070 XT, hitting 30 FPS in Cyberpunk 2077 with it enabled. Daniel’s DLSS-NR-on-AMD project now includes support for the RX 9060 XT, as of alpha version 0.2.14 (released yesterday).

Nodix-Tech also released version 1.1.8 for DLSS 5 Manager today, with a handful of improvements. These include improvements to the interface, translations, and performance – including reduced GPU usage. Version 1.1.8 also includes “Other additions for you to discover yourselves” – pretty mysterious – “I’ve lost track of exactly what I added,” says the dev.
