But I was wondering still, maybe in light of strange this legal development it's worth it to get a firm user consent (only needed once) regarding the nature of these things? Like "I understand and agree that these are not real search results but an AI summary" [agree].
I mean it's AI and everyone should be clear on the fact that when you ask for this, it might get some really strange results due to the nature of the technology. Eg Anthropic is not "owned by Jews" but if you ask for an AI summary you get what you order in a way.
I'd hate for someone at Kagi has to sit and manually curate AI craziness around some kind of potential legal liability. Who knows what crazy laws legislators in some jurisdictions may come up with...

It seems like Kagi is sourcing its answer from user-created playlists on Spotify or YouTube and oftentimes users will add songs that they feel "match the vibe" of the rest of the soundtrack/film but are objectively not part of the officially-released soundtrack or even a credited/uncredited song in the film.
Instead Kagi should be sourcing from more authoritative sources like:

The answer is plausible but the links go to a recipe website (recipe.food) with fully AI-generated recipes. It seems the website is on the "slopstop" blacklist, at least it doesn't come up in search results. It is provided as a source in Quick assistant answers, however.

Kagi Assistant gives me blatantly false information stated as fact for... I'd estimate about 85% of queries, even when asked very pointed queries.
Every query requires contradicting the response and forcing it to go and actually look things up instead of just spewing out straight hallucinations or information from years ago that's no longer valid.
Worse is the typical confident tone in which it states obvious falsehoods. The number of times I've read, "You're right to push back," or "That's fair, let me check instead of guessing" is outrageous.
EDIT: Here's just the most recent query since I posted this comment, for example:

More examples. The first one is interesting because it claims that Assistant's harness recommends that it should verify first before answering as factual, which clearly never happens.
And another:
