Delays in credit purchases

Anthropic resolved an issue in which users who reached a zero usage-credit balance saw delays in newly purchased credits becoming available, causing some Claude API requests to erroneously return 'credit balance is too low' errors. The incident affected credits purchased from 05:10am PT / 12:10 UTC to 2:35pm PT / 21:35 UTC and impacted Claude Console (platform.claude.com), according to the status update posted Sep 01, 2026 at 23:26 UTC. Newly purchased credits are now available as expected, and Anthropic said it is working to resolve any remaining impact.

We have identified and resolved an issue where users who reached a balance of zero usage credits saw delays in the availability of newly purchased credits, resulting in some requests to the Claude API receiving 'credit balance is too low' errors erroneously. This affected credits purchased from 05:10am PT / 12:10 UTC to 2:35pm PT / 21:35 UTC.
