Chinese-based AI startup DeepSeek has released a new artificial intelligence technology known as Super-Agent, which was created as an effort to make software engineering less complicated for developers and reduce the time they have to spend on writing code. This project is seen by DeepSeek as a direct rival to Claude Code, an AI tool created by Anthropic to assist programmers.
Unlike regular AI chatbots that reply to users only when prompted, Super-Agent was designed to work autonomously. According to a Bloomberg article, this software can observe conversations held in developers' group chats, detect potential problems in the process of programming and provide possible solutions without someone asking for help.
🇨🇳 China’s DeepSeek to launch autonomous AI ‘super agent’ Chinese startup DeepSeek has previewed a new AI system designed to operate with minimal human intervention, stepping up competition with US tech giants OpenAI and Anthropic. 🔶 The new “super agent” aims to eliminate the need for constant human supervision through automated coordination, significantly improving efficiency. 🔶 Enables multiple AI agents to work simultaneously through centralized coordination, significantly accelerating complex workflows involving software development, research, report preparation, email management and other tasks. 🔶 Proactively solves problems without human prompts, independently responding to events and identifying tasks requiring attention. 🔶 In experimental testing, DeepSeek’s approach completed one task in just under 16 minutes, compared with more than 29 minutes using a conventional approach, suggesting that autonomous coordination and parallel execution could substantially improve productivity.

US-China AI Race #
Super-Agent was introduced on WeChat by DeepSeek as a result of the efforts of its newly formed team called Harness. The project is in response to technology firms in China and the US who are trying to build an AI system to perform complicated work activities such as software engineering.
With Claude Code, Anthropic has made itself a name in AI-assisted programming. On the other hand, DeepSeek aims to create tools that provide both high-performance capabilities and efficiency and accessibility in order to establish itself firmly. The startup has managed to attract attention of the developer community through its AI models. The latest versions of its AI models V4.1-Flash, which are known to perform long-context tasks with lower memory consumption, have created more possibilities for coding, reasoning and agents for programmers.
DeepSeek Reportedly Secures $15 Billion Funding #
DeepSeek is also looking for a considerable amount of financial backing for their AI development. According to Bloomberg, the Hangzhou-based firm has recently raised close to 100 billion yuan or $15 billion, which is one of China's largest financings.
