2026-10-28 We're proud to release the next version of Database Workbench 7. Here's what it brings.
This release brings new features, enhancements and bugfixes.
All New Query Execution Plan Viewers
The query execution plan viewers have been overhauled. Instead of relying on hint windows, additional columns have been added to the tree views and there's a detail panel that includes **helpful explanations and suggestions** for all database systems.
MySQL had a tabular plan before, this release brings the tree structure, even for MySQL 5.5 that doesn't support this natively. And NexusDB had a very verbose query log, pieces of this log are parsed, grouped and displayed using the familiar tree structure you know from other database systems.
Numerous AI improvements
The integrated AI Chat has been improved as well. Clickable follow up questions, improved coloring, easier copying of text. There's also more database schema context available and new functionality for query performance analysis. Now the AI can help you to optimize your queries.
Additional import data features
Based on user suggestions, we've added the ability to create a new table during the data import process. And the mapping of file columns to table columns has been greatly improved.
