Cursor just launched its own code hosting platform on August 17, 2026, and it is not a side feature. Origin Code Hosting lets paid users host repositories directly in the IDE, complete with pull requests, CI integrations, and bidirectional GitHub sync. For a company already past $2B ARR, the move signals a clear bet: if AI agents write more and more of the code, the IDE that owns the repo layer wins.
