The biggest AI firms are all chasing the same fast-growing pool of developers.\n\nCursor is hiring on the ground too, adding sales, support and government-affairs staff across Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad and Mumbai. Green said Cursor could extend localised pricing elsewhere if the India model works. “It’d be crazy to say we would never do it elsewhere,” he said.\n\n## Under new ownership soon\n\nAll of this arrives with a new owner in the wings. SpaceX agreed in June to buy Cursor’s parent, Anysphere, in a [$60bn all-stock deal](https://thenextweb.com/news/spacex-cursor-acquisition-official-60-billion) due to close this quarter. The two have partnered on coding tools since April.\n\nGreen said Cursor will run independently until the deal closes, and that the India plans predate it.
