We talk a lot about H100s and LLM agents, but none of that exists without massive amounts of copper for the cabling, cooling systems, and power grids required to keep these clusters running. If production dips in Chile, the lead times for the physical infrastructure needed for AI deployment start to climb.
This is a real-world bottleneck that prompt engineering can't fix. While we're optimizing tokens, the physical layer is struggling with climate volatility. It makes me wonder if we'll see a shift toward alternative materials or if the industry will have to diversify its sourcing faster to avoid these kinds of systemic shocks.
