The feature is powered by Coinbase Payments and uses x402, an open payment standard created for automated payments across websites and online services.\n\nBusinesses will not need to complete additional setup to accept agent payments. Coinbase said USDC transactions settle instantly and do not carry chargeback risk.\n\nThe service also supports reusable payment links and automated buyer data collection for reconciliation and analytics.\n\nCoinbase also expanded Coinbase for Agents, its Model Context Protocol product launched last month, with new commands that allow AI agents to access live market data and execute trades based on predefined rules.\n\nThe tools include live monitoring of open orders, access to order books and real time price and volume data.
