# Cohesity takes HCLTech to its Clean Room

[Cohesity](https://www.blocksandfiles.com/ai-ml/2026/06/18/cohesity-goes-agentic-with-headless-protection/5258151) is supplying a  managed clean room capability within HCLTech’s VaultNXT offering.

India-based HCLTech, founded in 1976, says it’s a global tech company, employing more than 223,000 people across 60 countries, and supplying tech services and product capabilities for AI, digital, engineering, cloud and software. It has deals with Commvault and Rubrik as well as this latest Cohesity setup. VaultNXT is HCLTech’s consulting-led, end-to-end, cyber resilience and ransomware recovery framework and managed service, and uses third-party software for data protection mad security. A cleanroom is an isolated, safe, bounded environment in which to examine and test compromised systems and data.

Kit Beall, Cohesity’s Chief Revenue Officer, said: “Cyber recovery strategies need to go beyond restoring data to include investigation, validation, and trusted recovery. With VaultNXT’s proven framework, Cohesity and HCLTech are bringing together market-leading managed clean room services and AI-powered data security to help our customers recover trusted data faster, support compliance requirements, reduce risk, and operate with greater confidence.”

VaultNX has policy-driven cyber vaulting, immutable clean recovery copies, governed access, and audit-ready processes specifically addressing DORA, NIS2, and other resilience and regulatory requirements. Integrating the Cohesity Clean Room offering and AI-powered data security capabilities delivers a fully-managed, isolated recovery environment with secure investigation, containment, validation, and recovery capabilities.

This latest deal builds on a 2022 arrangement whereby HCLTech used Cohesity [FortKnox](https://www.blocksandfiles.com/data-management/2021/10/19/cohesity-adds-draas-offering-data-safety-and-plans-a-virtual-fort-knox-to-manage-data/1588291?_gl=1*fs5obn*_ga*MTY2OTcyMjAyNS4xNzcwODg2MTMy*_ga_NSDTXHMMN0*czE3ODg1MjY1ODUkbzIyMiRnMSR0MTc4ODUyNjc0MSRqNjAkbDAkaDA.) vaulting inside VaultNXT, with a [solution brief](https://www.cohesity.com/content/dam/cohesity/resource-assets/solution-brief/enhance-your-cyber-resilience-with-hcltech-vaultnxt-powered-by-cohesity-solution-brief-en.pdf) published in January 2023.

Rampal Singh, SVP of the Hybrid Cloud Business Unit at HCLTech, said about this cleanroom extension to the Cohesity relationship : “By combining HCLTech’s global scale and cyber resilience expertise with Cohesity’s AI-powered data security and recovery, we help customers reduce downtime, stay compliant and operational, and respond faster to evolving cyber threats due to the expanding AI landscape.”

##### **HCL, Commvault and Rubrik**

Cohesity is joining competitors Commvault and Rubrik in partnering HCLTech. Commvault has partnered HCLTech since 2015, with HCLTech having a VaultNXT offering using Commvault, that can enable customers to “transform their cyber resilience posture by moving from threat prevention to a holistic security strategy that provides end-to-end protection.” VaultNXT is HCLTech’s consulting-led cyber resilience and ransomware recovery framework and managed service, not a standalone backup product.

It typically includes

- Cyber recovery assessment and vault design (map critical apps/data, review incident-response readiness)
- Immutable / air-gapped copies and a zero-trust style vault
- AI/ML ransomware and anomaly detection, threat scanning of backups
- Validation of “golden” recovery copies
- Cleanroom recovery (restore and test in an isolated environment, not on production)
- Ongoing operate/monitor services, often with flexible pricing

[VaultNXT powered by Rubrik](https://www.hcltech.com/rubrik) dates from August last year. It’s HCLTech’s cyber-resilience service wrapped around Rubrik Security Cloud. HCLTech designs, builds, and often operates the vault and recovery process. Rubrik is the zero-trust backup and recovery platform underneath and supplies;

- Immutable architecture so ransomware cannot rewrite backups
- AI/ML ransomware monitoring and investigation
- Sensitive-data discovery (what data, where it lives, who can access it)
- Turbo Threat Hunting — scan thousands of snapshots for indicators of compromise in minutes
- Quarantine of infected snapshots
- Orchestrated recovery of applications and identities
- Optional Rubrik Cloud Vault for an extra immutable archive in the cloud
- A data-security command center that scores recoverability and security gaps

Thee s no cleanroom in this offering. HCLTech sells managed resilience on top of this, with continuous monitoring, anomaly detection, and recovery orchestration using Rubrik’s threat analytics and pre-computed metadata. The two say they have more than 20 joint enterprise customers.
