We’re making code coverage setup faster and simpler. You’ll now see a new option in your repository’s Code Quality settings that lets GitHub generate your coverage workflow automatically with AI. We’ll open a pull request so you can review the changes before you merge them.
Setting up code coverage has traditionally felt disconnected and manual. Now, you can get contextual help right in settings and create a working pipeline with a single click. You won’t need to author the workflow yourself, which cuts down setup time and removes guesswork.
How it works Code Quality can now generate a pull request for a coverage workflow. From the Code Quality settings page, you can start an agent that creates a pull request with a coverage workflow configured for your repository. The workflow builds your code, runs tests, generates a coverage report, and uploads it to GitHub, using least-privilege permissions by default.
Who can use it Code coverage automatic enablement is now in public preview for all GitHub Code Quality users on github.com. GitHub Code Quality is available today for GitHub Enterprise Cloud and Team, but isn’t yet available on GitHub Enterprise Server.
