Claude’s Chrome side panel is now a full Cowork session

Anthropic announced today that Claude's Chrome side panel is now a full Cowork session, enabling browser-based tasks and conversations to be saved to Claude history and resumed across Claude's desktop, web, and mobile apps. The update, available today for Max and Team customers with a Pro rollout in coming weeks, closes a gap where side panel sessions previously remained separate from other Claude apps. Anthropic’s example involves asking Claude to collect invoice details from several vendor portals, build a spreadsheet, then continuing the same session on desktop to add local files or compare the result with a previous budget. The update closes a gap in Claude’s browser workflow. Side panel sessions previously remained separate from sessions in Claude’s other apps, leaving their conversations and context behind.
