Anthropic's Cowork mode brings scheduled, automated morning briefings to Claude users on Max plan, pulling from email, calendars, and work tools
Anthropic is rolling out a Morning Brief capability inside Claude, giving a subset of users a personalized daily digest built from their connected work tools. The feature lives inside Cowork, Claude’s scheduled-task mode.
The Cowork feature supports scheduled routine tasks that pull information from platforms including email, calendars, Slack, Notion, and various dashboards. Users can configure what topics Claude monitors, and as of the August 25, 2026 release notes, those topics are now editable, with an added toggle for sensitive subjects.
Briefings can be scheduled as early as 8 AM local time, and the whole process runs in the background on Anthropic’s cloud, meaning the aggregation happens whether or not your device is active.
Access right now is not universal. The Cowork beta expanded to both mobile and web platforms starting July 13, 2026, but it launched first on the Max plan, Anthropic’s higher-tier subscription. Community chatter suggests demand is high, but availability remains limited to selected or paid users.
The August 25 release also introduced memory improvements specific to Cowork, including editable topics and a sensitive topics toggle.
The infrastructure upgrades underneath #
Anthropic brought two significant developer-facing tools to general availability on August 20, 2026: the Skills API and the Files API, both now live on the Claude Platform.
The Skills API allows Claude to connect to third-party tools in a structured, repeatable way. The Files API handles persistent document access, which matters for users who want their briefing to reference specific ongoing projects or documents rather than just real-time data feeds.

The sensitive topics toggle in the August 25 release notes is a small but telling detail. It suggests Anthropic is aware that a briefing pulling from email and Slack will inevitably surface things users might not want automatically processed or stored.
The Max plan restriction also shapes who gets to evaluate this first. Power users and business subscribers will generate the early feedback that determines how broadly and quickly Anthropic expands access.
