Claude Opus 5.5 cuts costs and adds safeguards for autonomous AI

Anthropic released Claude Opus 5.5 across its own Claude Platform, Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure, with developers accessing it under the model name claude-opus-5-5. The model adds watermarking measures designed to comply with the EU AI Act and is built for long, complex tasks including codebase migrations, software audits, financial analysis, data collection and multi-application workflows. Anthropic said early testers used Claude Opus 5.5 for engineering tasks.

Claude Opus 5.5 is available across Anthropic’s platforms, Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure.
