Claude for Chrome

Anthropic launched Claude for Chrome, a browser extension available on all paid plans that reads the page a user is signed in to and can click, type, and fill forms while the user decides what happens next. The extension integrates with Claude Code and Claude Cowork, and includes safety features such as automatic approval with guardrails, permissions mode, and admin controls for Team and Enterprise plans.

Though Claude in Chrome has built-in defenses that have been tested against real attacks, we recommend the habits below as a best practice. What we built Automatically approve actions with guardrails If you choose to, Claude can work through a task without asking you to approve each step. Before it acts on a page, a separate safety check reviews the action for risk and for instructions hidden by the site. It will surface to you if anything seems off. Give permissions, site by site If you prefer more control, switch to Permissions Mode. You grant access one site at a time. Claude can't reach anything you haven't approved. Claude stops before taking sensitive actions Purchases, financial actions, and other one-way doors wait for you. Admins decide for the organization On Team and Enterprise, admins turn the extension on or off org-wide and set site allowlists and blocklists.
