Cisco turns Splunk green with Nvidia compute

Cisco expanded its Splunk partnerships with Amazon Web Services and Nvidia at its Splunk-focused Conf. event, launching Cisco AI Pod for Splunk to run Splunk AI workloads on on-premises Nvidia accelerated computing for the first time. Splunk Enterprise customers can now run AI locally via Cisco AI Pod for Splunk or their own infrastructure, choosing from self-hosted models including the Cisco Deep Time Series Model, Google Gemma 4, and OpenAI GPT-OSS 20B, with Nvidia Nemotron open models due in the coming months. Splunk's Agentic SOC is also now integrated with AWS, backed by more than 1,300 security integrations including a link with Cisco Hybrid Mesh Firewall.

Cisco expanded its Splunk partnerships with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Nvidia.

As announced at the Splunk-focused Conf. event, Splunk is moving onto on-premises Nvidia accelerated computing for the first time with the launch of Cisco AI Pod for Splunk, anAI infrastructure stack pre-tested, pre-sized, and pre-validated specifically for Splunk AI workloads.

Kamal Hathi, SVP and GM of Splunk, pointed to the ability for teams running Splunk in their own data centers to use Splunk AI Assistant on ad-hoc agentic investigations. Customers can choose from self-hosted models including the Cisco Deep Time Series Model, Google Gemma 4, and OpenAI GPT-OSS 20B, with Nvidia Nemotron open models available in the coming months.

Splunk Enterprise customers will have two options to run AI locally, either using Cisco AI Pod for Splunk or bringing their own infrastructure. Here, Splunk supplies a Kubernetes-native runtime and reference architecture to run Splunk AI on self-managed Nvidia accelerated computing.

“Splunk Enterprise customers can now bring governed AI to sensitive machine data on-premises, in private clouds, or in air-gapped environments without surrendering deployment control or sacrificing data sovereignty,” Hathi said.

Machine-speed Splunk security #

On the Amazon front, Splunk’s Agentic security operations center (SOC) is now integrated with AWS to help security teams match the speed of AI-driven threats in mitigation efforts. While details were thin on the ground, a blog from Splunk Security SVP and GM John Morgan noted the tie-up represented a “fundamental shift in philosophy away” from “manual, feature-heavy workflows toward an agentic operating model for faster security outcomes.”

Morgan added both firms had been working together closely “to verify that our shared efforts meet the rigorous demands of enterprise and government environments.”

Behind the scenes, Splunk expanded its Agentic SOC Workforce into areas of detection and security engineering, threat hunting, investigation and response, and governance and policy. Also bundled into the offering are more than 1,300 security integrations, including a link with Cisco Hybrid Mesh Firewall.

“By integrating AWS infrastructure with Splunk’s Agentic SOC, we are moving beyond simple integration to create a brand-new defensive paradigm. This powerhouse alliance offers customers the unified, intelligent architecture required to address evolving security challenges effectively,” Rudra Mitra, VP of Security Services at AWS, added.
