Cisco Cloud Control launched with general availability in the U.S., integrating AI agents deeper into the Cisco network fabric following its preview earlier this year.
Designed to be a single pane of glass for Cisco applications, Cloud Control overlays existing environments to support an "AgenticOps" model where human operators and AI agents co-manage infrastructure. These come via the integration of Cisco Agentic Workflows, which aim to bake both compute-heavy AI recommendations and repetitive operational tasks into reusable automations.
These automations work across the Cisco family with integrated applications including Meraki, Catalyst Center through Meraki Global Overview, Catalyst SD-WAN, Nexus Dashboard, and Nexus Hyperfabric.
Third-party integrations are also possible with services such as ServiceNow, Infoblox, and Atlassian.
According to Balaji Venkatraman, VP for AI software and platform product management at Cisco, Cloud Control’s phased release schedule reflects a guarded approach to AI integration in enterprise systems, with AI learnings from its U.S. customer base informing future releases for other territories.
“We believe AgenticOps will change how teams operate IT infrastructure, but that change will be earned one result at a time,” Venkatraman said. “General availability allows us to learn from a broader group of U.S. customers, improve Cloud Control through real-world use to advance how they manage their environments and resolve operational issues, and apply those lessons as we expand into additional geographies.”
ThousandEyes from end-to-end #
Other Cisco applications covered under Cloud Control include security tools Splunk, ThousandEyes, and Security Cloud Control, as well as hybrid operations platform Cisco Intersight.
The Cisco ThousandEyes integration sees its various agents, assurance alerts, path intelligence and other supported telemetry surfaceable inside Cloud Control, with operators able to jump into the full ThousandEyes product when deeper analysis is required.
Supported identity and operational metadata for ThousandEyes agents can appear alongside assets from other connected Cisco products, giving operators a view of where ThousandEyes assurance capabilities are deployed across their environment. The move effectively turns the Cisco platform into an external and end-to-end assurance layer for observability beyond the managed enterprise network.
Supported Enterprise Agent alerts appear through Cloud Control Actions/Notifications, including assurance signals around availability, latency, and packet-loss degradation. Operators can also query data with natural language prompts using Cisco AI assistant, as well as incorporate data into AI Canvas, Cisco's shared workspace for investigations involving operators and AI agents.
David Puzas, director for product marketing at ThousandEyes, explained the Canvas integration sees end-to-end telemetry added across the service-delivery path to help broaden the evidence available during an investigation and surface “network latency, packet loss, jitter, and availability, application and network test results, network path and hop-level information, and fault-domain information that helps distinguish between enterprise, WAN, Internet, cloud, and application dependencies.”
Cisco goes Canuck #
Alongside the launch of Cloud Control for U.S. customers, Cisco also tipped its hat to users north of the border with the release of a Canada-centric sovereignty suite.
Cisco's Sovereign Critical Infrastructure portfolio is aimed at giving greater technological autonomy to government, financial institutions, healthcare and other critical infrastructure providers in Canada.
The suite is comprised of a fully configurable portfolio of air-gapped and ‘on-prem’ physical environments, spanning Cisco's routing, switching, and wireless lines across to select endpoint devices and Splunk services.
The release was positioned as fitting the Canadian government's AI for All strategy, and aligning with Canadian-specific frameworks such as ITSG-33.
