Chinese AI start-up Moonshot on Tuesday launched the Kimi Ambassador Program to recruit influential entrepreneurs, developers, creators and students who use its Kimi AI model to share their experiences and expand global adoption. The program offers early access to unreleased models, API credits and direct engagement with Moonshot's product team, following the recent release of the Kimi K3 model that performed close to American frontier systems.

The Beijing-based start-up on Tuesday launched the “Kimi Ambassador Program”, aimed at “passionate Kimi users to build up communities and the future of AI”, according to its website. The move comes as Moonshot seeks to turn the growing attention around Kimi K3 into broader adoption among developers and creators. Unlike traditional software products, AI models often need users to adapt them to specific workflows, making external developers and communities an increasingly important channel for discovering new use cases. The company was recruiting entrepreneurs, developers, content creators and university students who were “influential” in their own communities, had integrated Kimi into products or workflows and were willing to share their experiences and passions to a broader community, it said. The application process reflects the type of users Moonshot hopes to attract. Candidates must complete an 11-question form covering their personal details, experience with Kimi, social media presence and community influence, along with open-ended prompts such as what they would build if they had unlimited access to Kimi’s application programming interface API . Successful candidates would gain early access to unreleased Kimi models and experimental features, API credits – a digital currency used by software providers to gauge and charge for the usage of their API – direct engagement with Moonshot’s product team, and opportunities to showcase their work through official channels.
