China has unveiled Xingshu, or 'Star Hub', a space-based computing network designed to process satellite data in orbit using AI before sending results to Earth, according to Chi Nan, an optical communications professor at Fudan University. The network, jointly developed by Fudan and Shanghai Xingshu Tiansuan Space Technology Co., will eventually comprise around 1,000 satellites and offer on-demand computing services by the hour for governments, researchers, and companies.
