China Exports 1 Million Automobiles in a Month … Twice China exported 1.043 million vehicles in July, up 0.6% from June and 81.3% year-over-year, with new energy vehicle (plugin) exports reaching 553,000 units, up 5.7% month-over-month and 145.5% year-over-year, according to CleanTechnica. This marks the second consecutive month that China's vehicle exports surpassed one million, with plugin vehicles accounting for more than half of total exports. In the first half of the year, the value of China's automobile exports to Belt and Road Initiative markets reached $83.67 billion, up 30.8% year-on-year, as reported by China Daily. Now I’ve also seen news that China just reached a new milestone, with electric vehicles playing a big part of that. China exported more than one million electric vehicles for the second time ever last month, after first achieving the milestone the month before. A big reason for this was a boom in “new energy vehicle” plugin vehicle deliveries. There were 553,000 new energy vehicle exports in July, 5.7% more than in June and 145.5% more than in July 2025. And, yes, plugin vehicles did account for more than half of the country’s vehicle exports. Overall, 1.043 million vehicles were exported from China, which was up very slightly 0.6% from June and up hugely 81.3% from last July. Though, as you saw above, plugin vehicle sales were up more month over month and year over year. “In the first half of the year, the value of China’s automobile product exports to BRI markets reached $83.67 billion, up 30.8 percent year-on-year,” China Daily shares.
