China established the World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organization on July 16, with 29 countries signing an agreement in Shanghai, excluding the United States. In response, the Trump administration helped broker a Group of 20 consensus statement on emerging technologies on Sept. 2, covering pro-innovation policy, workforce development, intellectual property, standards, and investment in AI supply chains.
