ChatGPT Adds Multiple Google Account Support for Gmail, Calendar, More

OpenAI has added multi-account support for Google services in ChatGPT, allowing paid subscribers to connect and switch between two Google accounts for Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Contacts, as announced by OpenAI development engineer Jason Liu. The feature is available across all ChatGPT platforms but requires a Plus-tier subscription or higher, with Google Drive notably absent from the rollout.

Using multiple Google accounts in ChatGPT has been difficult so far, but a new option lets you switch between two logins without signing out or combining your personal and work information. First announced by OpenAI development engineer Jason Liu, you can now attach multiple Google accounts to select ChatGPT plugins. The tool currently works with Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Contacts.

It means you can access your personal Google account and any additional accounts you may have for work or other purposes. Google Drive is surprisingly missing from this rollout, and it's unclear if OpenAI plans to offer that at a later date.

Multiple-account support for Google services is available across all ChatGPT platforms, but you’ll need a paid subscription to use them. Free accounts can't access any of Google's connected plugins, which require a Plus-tier subscription or higher.

If you do subscribe, head to **Settings **> **Plugins **> Gmail, Google Calendar, or Google Contacts and find the Connected accounts option. Below your current account, you’ll find a new button labeled Connect another account. If you don't have these tools turned on yet, you'll find each one in the **Plugins **menu on the left-hand side. These options remain exclusive to Google tools for now, but some users are requesting that OpenAI bring them to more tools, such as Notion or GitHub. OpenAI has yet to comment on whether it plans to do so.

Another OpenAI engineer, Gabriel Chua, said this option was a "very popular request" from users, suggesting the brand is actively listening to feedback. That may mean OpenAI will one day expand this option.

Disclosure: Ziff Davis, PCMag's parent company, filed a lawsuit against OpenAI in April 2025, alleging it infringed Ziff Davis copyrights in training and operating its AI systems.
