Lawmakers and staffers across the U.S. Congress are using artificial intelligence chatbots—including Copilot, ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude in the House—to write speeches, sort constituent mail, and draft amendments, according to a Washington Post report. Both chambers have cleared members and staff to use the tools for official work with little oversight, even as they debate how to regulate AI for the rest of the country.
