The Commodity Futures Trading Commission is launching a new public forum series to examine technologies transforming financial markets, starting with artificial intelligence and agentic finance. The Frontier Forum Series, organized by the CFTC’s Innovation Task Force, will bring together public- and private-sector participants for discussions on financial technology and evolving market structures.
The agency said the forums are intended to explore ways to encourage responsible innovation while maintaining protections for market participants and the integrity and resilience of US markets. Chairman Michael S. Selig said the CFTC should engage directly with those developing and studying the technologies driving changes in financial markets.
The inaugural forum is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2026.
