# The spatial IDE for AI coding agents

Orchestrate Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Grok, OpenCode, and Pi with visual wires, and a side-by-side editor to track everything.

HEADS UPYour system will block the file on first run: the installer is not code-signed yet. It is expected, and you can go ahead — the reason, and the two clicks around it, are in the [docs](/docs/installation).

Local-first. No account. No telemetry. Your keys, your machine.

The canvas

## Every agent on one surface

Terminals, Monaco editors, browsers and parallel git worktrees float on the same infinite canvas. Pan, zoom, drag anything anywhere — and watch every one of your agents work at once, without losing sight of a single one.

What makes it different

## Designed for how you actually code

01

### 1-Click worktrees & branches

Ship three experiments at once. None of them touch your working tree.

The New Task button creates an isolated branch, its own working directory and an agent, without touching the code in front of you. Each one gets a colour that follows it through the sidebar, the dock tabs and its own territory on the canvas.

The same switch as Settings → Worktrees

02

### Monaco with diffs

See exactly what the agent changed, before you keep it.

VS Code's editor inside the canvas, with a side-by-side diff of everything the agent touched. The file tree is git-aware, so you always know what moved.

03

### Context wires

Drag a wire from one panel to an agent and the context goes with it.

A directed line from one terminal to another. Set it to relay automatically when the source goes quiet, or leave it as a standing permission so the agent downstream only receives what it asks for. No more copying context between windows.

04

### Maestro Mode

One agent recruits, briefs and wires a team of up to five — adjustable up to ten.

Off by default, flipped by a human click. Every action it takes opens an editable approval card before anything appears on the canvas. The team organizes itself. You stay the one who says yes.

Approval required

Wire Code Reviewer to Refactor Gremlin, and brief both.

05

### Multi-project & parallel branches

What if you could run 2 projects at once — with 3 parallel branches on each — with your AI agents, and still keep total visual control over everything?

Every open project keeps its own canvas, and inside it every task runs in an isolated worktree with its own agent. Switch between them from the sidebar and the state of each one comes back untouched — nothing one agent does reaches another's work.

Privacy

## Your code never leaves your machine. Not a single byte.

Cloud editors proxy your files through servers that are not yours. Catenary was local-first from the first commit — and what follows is the entire list of what it sends, not a summary of it.

- ## GETgithub.com/GioNicolas/catenary-releases → latest.ymlUpdate check, every 15 min0 B out GET /catenary-releases/releases/latest/download/latest.yml(no request body — nothing is sent, a version number comes back)A public file on GitHub Releases, the same one you can open in a browser right now. It answers a question; it asks none.
- ## POSTthecatenary.app/api/license/activate · /api/license/deactivate · /api/trial/claimOnly when you paste a key, remove it, or start the trial~400 B out POST /api/trial/claim{ "machineId": "9f2b7c…4e1a" }// sha-256, 64 hex chars, irreversible. No name, no hostname,// no serial, no email, no account — because there is no account.Three user-started moments in the life of the install. No periodic check-in, no heartbeat, and the Free plan never reaches this endpoint at all.

- Source code and file contents0 B
- Terminal output and commands you run0 B
- Project names, branches and file paths0 B
- Prompts and agent conversations0 B
- Your API keys0 B
- Analytics, trackers, crash reportsnone

Prompts are not blocked from working — they are blocked from us. The agent CLI you chose talks straight to Anthropic, OpenAI or Google with the key you brought, or to nobody at all when you point it at Ollama or LM Studio on localhost.

Bytes of your code Catenary has sent: 0. There is no endpoint to send them to.

Open a row: what you get is the whole request, not an excerpt of it.

### No telemetry, and nowhere to put it

The analytics endpoint ships empty in every published build, and the crash-reporter DSN was removed from the distribution outright. This is not a switch we default to off and hope you never flip — it is an address that does not exist.

CATENARY_ANALYTICS_ENDPOINT = ""

### Two hosts. That is the whole list.

One public file on GitHub Releases so the app knows a newer version exists, and one licence endpoint that only answers when you paste a key or claim the trial. Nothing else has an address. Nothing is proxied through us, because there is no us in the path.

### Pull the Wi-Fi. Nothing stops.

The Pro key is verified on your device by Ed25519 signature, and the trial comes back as a signed token good for all seven days offline. Canvas, terminals, worktrees, git and the editor never ask the network for permission to run — they were never able to.

Ed25519, verified on device

Every line above is the same promise as our [Privacy Policy](/privacy), which ships inside the app in these same words — because a claim that only lives on a landing page is a claim nobody can hold you to.
