Building Tech Communities, AI Projects, and Developer Connections from Cartagena A software engineer from Cartagena, Colombia, shares how building developer communities through GDG Cartagena has shown that technology is about people, not just code. The engineer explores AI, cloud technologies, and local meetups to connect developers globally. When I started my journey in software development, I thought technology was mainly about learning programming languages, building applications, and solving technical problems. Over time, I discovered something even more important: technology is also about people. The best ideas, projects, and learning experiences often happen when developers connect, share knowledge, and build together. I’m a Software Engineer passionate about Artificial Intelligence, Cloud technologies, and developer communities. I enjoy exploring new tools, creating solutions, and helping create spaces where people can learn and collaborate. Being part of the tech ecosystem has shown me how powerful communities can be. Through GDG Cartagena, I have had the opportunity to participate in and organize spaces where developers, students, and technology enthusiasts come together to talk about software development, AI, cloud, and emerging technologies. One of the most rewarding parts of community building is seeing someone discover a new technology, build their first project, or find new opportunities through connections made in these spaces. Artificial Intelligence is changing the way we create software. Today, developers have access to new tools that help us build faster, experiment with ideas, and create solutions for real-world challenges. Some areas I am currently exploring: For me, AI is not about replacing creativity. It is about giving developers new ways to imagine and build. Sometimes people think that innovation only happens in big technology hubs. But local communities have incredible potential. From Cartagena, Colombia, we can create spaces where developers connect with global technologies, participate in international initiatives, and build projects with real impact. Every meetup, workshop, hackathon, and conversation helps strengthen the technology ecosystem. ✨ Communities are powerful because people are willing to share. ✨ Learning becomes easier when we learn together. ✨ A developer community can start locally and create global connections. ✨ Technology is not only about tools; it is about the people who use them to solve problems. I will continue exploring AI, Cloud, software development, and ways to connect more people with technology. There is always something new to learn, build, and share.
