Practice confidently. Improve one conversation at a time.\n\nThe agent is designed around everyday English practice and supports English, Hindi, and Hinglish interactions.\n\nThe project uses:\n\nThe main goal was to make the interaction feel like a real conversation rather than a traditional chatbot.\n\nUsers can start a voice conversation, speak naturally, and receive spoken responses from the AI agent.\n\nI also integrated a friendly female voice to make the experience more natural and approachable.\n\nOne of the important parts of the project is handling different ways users communicate.\n\nFor example, a user can switch between:\n\nThis makes the experience more comfortable for users who may not be completely confident speaking English.\n\nI also experimented with conversational routing.\n\nFor example, when a user asked for help with a mathematics problem, the main assistant could route the conversation toward a dedicated maths practice specialist.\n\nThis makes the architecture more flexible because different specialists can handle different tasks.\n\nAnother feature I implemented was a simple call analytics dashboard.\n\nThe dashboard tracks:\n\nThis provides a basic view of how the voice agent is performing.\n\nBuilding SpeakEasy AI helped me understand that a voice agent is much more than simply connecting speech-to-text with an LLM.\n\nImportant parts include:\n\nThe biggest learning for me was understanding how different AI components work together to create a complete voice experience.\n\nIndia has a huge diversity of languages and communication styles.\n\nVoice interfaces can make AI more accessible to people who may find traditional text-based interfaces difficult or less natural.\n\nWith better multilingual support and localized voice experiences, conversational AI can become much more useful for everyday learning and communication.\n\nI plan to continue improving SpeakEasy AI by working on:\n\nThis project has been a great hands-on experience in building production-oriented AI voice applications.\n\nThanks to the **Murf AI Voice for Bharat Challenge** for providing the opportunity to explore voice AI more deeply.", "url": "https://wpnews.pro/news/building-speakeasy-ai-a-multilingual-voice-agent-for-bharat", "canonical_source": "https://dev.to/priyal_2504/building-speakeasy-ai-a-multilingual-voice-agent-for-bharat-29i6", "published_at": "2026-08-15 16:39:43+00:00", "updated_at": "2026-08-15 16:42:20.844108+00:00", "lang": "en", "topics": ["artificial-intelligence", "natural-language-processing", "ai-products", "ai-agents"], "entities": ["SpeakEasy AI", "Murf AI Voice for Bharat Challenge", "Murf AI"], "alternates": {"html": "https://wpnews.pro/news/building-speakeasy-ai-a-multilingual-voice-agent-for-bharat", "markdown": "https://wpnews.pro/news/building-speakeasy-ai-a-multilingual-voice-agent-for-bharat.md", "text": "https://wpnews.pro/news/building-speakeasy-ai-a-multilingual-voice-agent-for-bharat.txt", "jsonld": "https://wpnews.pro/news/building-speakeasy-ai-a-multilingual-voice-agent-for-bharat.jsonld"}}
